Heading North Leaving Marathon Mid March

Sadly, it was time to leave Marathon. We traveled again under the
7 mile Bridge into the Gulf, Florida Bay. The water was shallow for 2 days. One nite we stayed at Biscayne National Park, Bocha Chita. So beautiful and tropical. We tied up to the sea wall. Cost $ 10.00
per nite.
The dolphins junped along side our boat just following us.

We headed North from Bocha Chita getting ready to head towards Miami. One of the bridges in Miami was having difficulties opening, so we decided that we would leave the ICW for 40 miles and took the outside, ocean, run to Ft. Lauderdale. The Miami skyline was breath taking, and the water changed color from Aqua to a deep blue, just beautiful. What an exciting day. We entered at Port Everglades.  Cruise ships and container ship travel through this channel. The New River bisects the heart of Ft. Lauderdale where mega yachts, 150 ft. -200 ft. are towed by small tugs. We held our breath when the mega yachts would pass us.

Ft. Lauderdale

We docked on the municipal docks in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. The tides were hugh and it was very hard to get on and off the boat.

Leaving Ft.Lauderdale and headed outside again to Ft. Worth Inlet. We stayed in West Palm Beach, meeting up with Bob and Carolyn. Bob and Tom drove each car home, while Carolyn and I had fun in West Palm.

Time to have my hair cut. Here is Frenchie from Germany. She was the make up artist and hair person for the actors on the show Bananza.
