One Month in Marathon, a little Bohemian, but fantastic
February 21, Presidents' Day, we arrive at Sombrero Resort in Marathon. As soon as we were docked, we were invited to a Presidents' Day party. Here we are at the Chickee Hut on ourdock. Great people, beautiful day.
My good friend, Maryann arrived on Thursday, the 24 with her friend Dave. I was so excited that she was here in Marathon. We had a fantastic time. Maryann realized that the Keys have a rather Bohemian flare.
We ate fantastic fish sandwiches with hugh amounts of french fries at Burdines. Home of the Keys best fish sandwich.
Robbie's Pier, in Islamorado, lies among the coconut palms with a shimmering view of the nearby islands. You can drink a beer, feed the 6 ft tarpons and watch the pelicans.
Sue and Jack, great friends from C dock in Ft. Myers also stayed in Marathon in Boot Key Harbor. We decided to hear some music, Sue's favorite, Brian Roberts was playing at the Sunset Grill in Marathon at the Seven Mile Bridge.

We spent lots of time exploring the creeks in our dinghy. One creek led us to the Ocean where there was a beautiful white sandy beach. We took an evening cocktail cruise and found 6 othere dinghys doing the same. We all tied together and floated in Boot Key Harbor.

Tom and I walked over the old 7 mile bridge. 2 miles of the old railroad bridge is still there for bikes and walkers.
Bob and Carolyn drove to Marathon to pick up our car. We would meet them in West Palm where Tom and Bob would drive the cars home.
